Job Summary: The Account Executive (“AE”) is responsible for prospecting, identifying, solving, and executing supply chain solutions to drive growth (consignors, consignees, and third-parties or “Shippers”). The AE is an entry level position, with training designed to support the development of the requisite sales and operations skills to be a successful Account Executive.
Essential Functions of the Job:
1. Generate leads and contact prospective customers to solicit appropriate services based on the customer’s needs.
2. Develop, adjust, and carry out logistics plans while finding ways to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
3. Listen and learn the needs of stakeholders in supply chains and coordinate the movement of freight between suppliers and customers.
4. Maintain detailed records and simultaneously manage several projects in a fast-paced environment.
5. Follow operational practices to ensure consistent and exceptional freight transport and logistics services to customers while addressing and handling unforeseen issues and adjust plans as needed.
6. Proper and complete use of the Company’s CRM, the Company’s Transportation Management System(s), and the Company’s telephone system(s) as established by the Director of the Account Executive Program.
Job Requirements:
1. Communication skills. Must have strong communication skills (both phone and email) to collaborate with colleagues and do business with suppliers and customers.
2. Critical-thinking skills. Must develop, adjust, and carry out logistics plans while finding ways to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
3. Customer service skills. Must know the needs of the Company’s customers to coordinate the movement of freight. This knowledge is gained through listening to the customer and applying their knowledge of the capacity market and networks to provide solutions.
4. Organizational skills. Must be able to keep detailed records and simultaneously manage several projects in a fast-paced environment.
5. Problem-solving skills. Must handle unforeseen issues, such as delivery problems, and adjust plans as needed to resolve the issues.
6. A competitive nature, self-motivated and proactive with strong leadership qualities and the ability to create trust and build relationships
7. Ability to quickly learn new computer skills and programs.
